Wrong Place Right Time

The moon, but a sliver in the night sky, lent no light to my journey as I walked along an unfamiliar road in an unfamiliar place. Though my eyes were well adjusted to the darkness, leaving the surrounding wood with a vivid twilight light, the nocturnal creatures still prowled about as if unseen. Bats darted about gathering their nightly meals and mice shuffled through leaves and underbrush at the feet of trees. It seemed as through this road would go on forever, winding and turning like a serpent's body. I remained at a casually gait, enjoying the quiet hum of crickets and the light chattering of the bats above me.

The circumstances that left me in this state were simple; my car lacked the correct amount of fuel and left me stranded in the middle of nowhere. One would think after a few millennia of experience I would know to check the gas tank.

The horizon of endless forest gave way to a sight that came very welcome to my eyes.

A castle.

Rising against the night sky with the moon cupping its highest peak, it couldn't have looked more ominous. Still, it was a castle all the same which meant I could find shelter from the approaching daylight and possibly a willing servant girl to have for dinner. Though, if I was lucky, and the heaven's smiled on me, the lady of the house might offer me something sweet to sup from... given that she was free to do so.

It seemed forever before I reached the drive leading to the main gate. I sighed in relief as my boots touched on cobblestone and tapped a rhythmic tune as I continued on toward the looming sanctuary. The large front doors were foreboding but as I was hardly threatened or challenged by mortals, I dared to lift the heavy knocker and slammed it against the metal plate behind it. The sound was thunderous, booming in my ears twice as loud as the sound would be to a human.

Apparently the sound truly only carried to my ears as no servant came to the door to allow me entrance. I tried thrice more and still received no answer. I stood pondering over the dilemma for a moment, wondering if perhaps the castle was abandoned for the time being. It seemed is repair, so perhaps the occupant was out somewhere...?  I tried the door, finding it open. Either I was quite lucky or the  occupant was unafraid of what the woods beyond held.

My senses fluttered strangely at an energy I wasn't quite used to. It was different than anything I had felt before. I could also sense another Vampire. So... at least one of my own dwelled here.  I searched the wide open room with my eyes and found it empty. As I debated whether I should stay or go, movement on the massive staircase at the far end of the hall, caught my eye.  Gliding down each step, with an elegance that took my breath away, was a young woman.

She wore very little and what she did have on clung to her body delightfully. Her raven black hair, cut short, framed a perfect, young , face with pouting lips and huge amethyst eyes. My eyes remained  there as long as they could before sweeping down to take in the glorious curves of her body again. Her eyes, glittering like stars in a midnight sky, told me she had been expecting someone else. Her lips parted, blooming like a rose in the full of summer, to speak. I found that I could hardly wait to hear the voice that issued from such an angelic form.

"Who are you?" She asked, her posture unthreatened and relaxed.  " I am but a weary traveler who has come to ask for your mercy, my lady."  I said, bowing my head just slightly so I could keep my eyes trained on her.  She must have seen how my gaze devoured her but she wasn't completely put off by the adoration. She descended the stairs slowly, one impeccable leg after the other, gently brushing as she moved. Her midsection was bound in a plum corset and the delicate V between her legs was hidden behind lace and satin of the same rich color. The thin robe, that hung loosely from her shoulders, hardly concealed the bountiful bosom that spilled from the corset.

Her full lips curved into a slight smile as she finally stop before me, her glittering eyes sweeping over me so intensely I could feel the caress of them. "You are a vampyre...?" She mused.  I caught a hint of liquor on her breath, wine, expensive. This woman had good taste...  "Yes." I said, tilting my head ever so slightly. "And you?" I asked. Her answer was a smile, one that could make any man insane with wanting to know its meaning. "And what is your name, weary traveler?" She asked, passing me to stroll across the expanse of the main room. She stopped at a cart displaying crystal decanters and returned her gaze to me as if waiting for my answer.

"My name is Mael." I said, watching her actions intently. Her lips curved once again into that infuriatingly mysterious smile. "A rather queer name...Mael..." She rolled the name off her tongue with a grace that had me interested in more than her blood. She turned and offered a glass of wine with one hand while holding her own glass in the other. I closed the space between us and took the offered liquid with pleasure. I took a deep breath , inhaling the rich odor before tasting it. "May I ask your name, my lady?" Aw but once again I was answered with a coy smile.  "Somehow I doubt it is my name that you truly want...Mael." She purred, raising her glass to her lips, letting the red liquor flow over them, moistening them.

I knew I was staring and she knew I was staring. I took another drink from my glass, faster than before. "I would be lying if I wasn't utterly distracted by your charm... however, I'd still be honored to know the name of the woman that will haunt my dreams tonight."  I said, wondering if her blood would taste sweeter than her skin... She chuckled slightly, apparently having fun with my attempt at wooing. Though, I would likely dream of her if I wasn't occupied otherwise with her...

"My name is Samkiel... " She said. The hint of mischief in her eyes led me to wonder if I could perhaps ask more of her. "That is a rather unique name." I commented drawing closer, much closer than I should have been. "I suppose we share something in common then..." She purred, that captivating smile still teasing at her lips. I hadn't realized how close to the wall we were, the soft curve of her bottom bumped against it as I leaned in. "There is something about you..." I whispered, resting my arm, which held the wine, above her head against the wall. She still seemed unthreatened and generally amused at my behavior.

"Oh?" She said, her eyes raising to meet mine.  "Yes." I said, roughly under my breath. I was mere inches away from tasting her wine tainted lips. So full and moist, my senses begged for the sensation of them brushing against mine. I took the liberty of tracing a finger along the top of her corset to which she raised a single, dark, brow. "You seem less weary with each moment that passes." She remarked playfully, her smile remaining. "You've suddenly inspired me." I admitted, dipping my finger between her breasts to stroke. My lips brushed across hers, savoring without committing then drifted to her neck where the skin was softer and her pulse thumped in anticipation.

"I must taste you..." I all but groaned into the hallow of her perfect throat. I was so close, my fangs lengthening, my pants growing tight at the thought of sliding them into her body... Yes, this would be quite pleasurable.

"What is going on here?!"
I heard the husky male voice demand behind me.

Oh God... she was married.

The end.
