An Introduction:
    There are few who now live that can tell the truth about the Lay of Eldathorn, and though of a great age I know the truth, fore I was there.  Even more important then being there is the fact that I was a fond friend to the great alf warrior, as unlikely as it now seems.  Know that Eldathorn's heart was not in War as The Lay claims, but in the written words.  Before ever he was a great warrior he was an even greater scholar.  It would sadden his heart that he is now remembered not for his great works of lore, but those of the blade that had taken so many lives.
   I am penning these words so the truth of Eldathorn's most noble soul shall not be lost to The Darkness and fade away in time to be nothing more than another name of a long line of legendary warriors among the alfs.  He was my friend and does not deserve such disservice.

Chapter One: In the Beginning Was An Egg:
 Yzsarth let out a loud roar from the depths of his diaphragm, but what came out was nothing more then a shrill yip like squawking sound as with all his strength he pushed aside the fragments of shell with his sharp purplish black talons.  Yzsarth tumbled rather gracefully he felt from his egg.  He stretched forth his long neck forward as his fore-claws dug into the stone, scraping it with his claw marks.  The last eighty years inside that egg had begun to start feeling cramped and he felt glad as his eyes looked upon the ruddy glow of the massive cavern with it's great pillars shaped like his kind, Avaeniri, what some humans have called dragons, but in truth they were actually fire alfs.
