Click, click, click. The repetitious sound of a clock refused to stop. Blackness, suffocating, hot, painful blackness. Adrian struggled to get out. He felt like he was in a dream, maybe he was. Now wasn't the time to sleep, though. He had to wake up, protect Abby.  Abby... why couldn't he get her image out of his mind? He wanted to hold her, it was all he could think about.
