Chapter 8: The Wedding part two

“Um, you loose a lot of control of your mind during sex ok, not like I haven’t seen a few things that I shouldn’t have.” She said putting all her weight into pulling. It didn’t even budge him. “Mael… don’t be angsty on me!” Cassy yelled stomping her foot to the ground. “You go sit on that bed right now and confide in me or I am not marrying you!”  Mael looked utterly shocked and, despite his ‘angstyness’ amused. “Geeze, we can’t have sex tonight with you being all sad you know!” Cassy smiled unable to ignore that slight curl of his lip.

“Yes we can.” He corrected. There was a hint of a smile on his lips. “Aw, I see those pretty teeth trying to show… you want to smile.” Cassy beamed. She slipped her arms around his waist and melted into his body. “I love you and there is nothing that could make me stop…” She breathed against his bare chest; her breath was warm on his skin. “There is no word for what I feel for you.” He whispered into her hair. They stayed there for quit some time just holding each other. Neither willing to move or let go until he lifted her up and carried her to bed.

The next morning Cassy awoke alone in bed, the next day was the wedding and she was starting to wonder how they were going to get past the whole Minister/Priest thing. Her Mother would want a Priest, being Catholic and Cassy would want a Minister, being not Catholic. There was already a fight a’ brewing and now that she wasn’t able to even walk in a church… wow.  Cassy pulled the covers over her head and moaned loudly. When she was finally able, she dressed and went downstairs to give her sister an ass ripping of a life time for… apparently, making Mael cry.

“Only my Sister could bring down a Vampire king…” Cassy said under her breath as she entered the kitchen area. This was her favorite part of the manor, mostly because of the food but secondly because it was covered in rock and looked like an old castle. “Morning Mom.” Cassy said stepping through the arch doorway. There were hardly any windows in the manor, which made it much easier for Mael and Cassy to seem normal during the daylight hours. “Morning, don’t you have a clock, its afternoon!” Jackie said sipping at a cup of coffee.

Cassy shrugged. “Well, I was up half the night talking with Mael…” She said taking a seat next to her Mother. “Is that what they call it now…” Jackie said raising an eyebrow. “Yeah, when two people talk, they call it talking! By the way, where is Nicole?” Cassy asked scanning the room. “She is looking around the house I think. I wish you and your Sister wouldn’t fight…” Jackie said taking another sip. Cassy narrowed her eyes. “We wouldn’t if she wasn’t always stealing everything I have! She might be smart but she is a bitch, end of story.” She growled.

“My, my…dearest, such words.” Mael said appearing in the doorway. Cassy grumbled something under her breath. “Mael, dear! Come and have some coffee with me, will you? That darling Lilo went out and got me some, wasn’t that sweet?” Jackie beamed. “Yes very sweet, too sweet.” Mael muttered. “I am afraid I don’t drink coffee but I will join you, if that is aright?” He said with a wide smile. “Mom, its AILO, not Lilo!” Cassy reprimanded her. Jackie just waved her hand to dismiss her daughter.

“Now, Mael, we need to talk about this wedding. Cassy has assured me that everything is being taken care of but she hasn’t told me where it’s going to be or anything! Since you seem far more MATURE, I am asking you.” Jackie said. “Where? Well, it’s going to be right here. I see no need to go somewhere else when my grounds are enormous.” Mael said with a pleasant smile, that smile that made you forget why you were asking him a question in the first place.

“Oh, well I suppose that will be nice…” Jackie said wryly. “Is there a problem with this?” Mael asked curiously. Cassy was just waiting for it. “Well, Cassidy was brought up Catholic and I was really hoping that she would be married in a Catholic church… if anything, to honor her Father’s wishes.” Jackie said with a hint of sorrow. Cassy was sure it was not real sorrow but a put on to make her feel bad. Too bad she couldn’t give in if she wanted to. “Misses Peterson, I would love to honor her Father’s wishes but… simply put, I can’t enter a church.” Mael stated truthfully.

Jackie raised an eyebrow then looked to Cassy who was nearly in shock. “What, oh… you are Jewish?! Cassy is he Jewish???” Jackie gasped. “No, he isn’t but does it really matter, he doesn’t want to be in a church, ok?” Cassy said. Jackie took a long sip of coffee then glance from one to the other. “He is Jewish isn’t he?” She insisted. Cassy cried and dropped her head to the counter. “No, I am not… I fear I might melt if I enter one, that’s all.” Mael said.

“Mael!” Cassy gasped. “She has to find out sooner or later…why not sooner. You must notice the fact we have a lack of crosses in the house despite your daughter’s faith. The cross she wore, it is now locked in a box.” Mael explained calmly. Cassy just held her hand over her mouth. “…Are you Satanists?!” Jackie cried. Mael shook his head gently. “We are divine beings, Jackie. Fallen from heaven to the earth to dwell and spread the gift of eternal life to mankind.” He said.

Jackie swallowed hard. “Is he crazy?” She asked Cassy. Cassy was shaking her head in disbelief. “…I… um… no but… I mean…” As Cassy stammered and stuttered, the door to the kitchen swung open. “Hi all!” Nicole said bouncing through. She was in a tight white t-shirt and extremely short shorts. Cassy smacked Mael on the arm just incase he tried to look. He cleared his throat and smiled. Cassy suddenly had an image in her mind of herself in the same exact outfit. She looked to Mael bewildered and he winked at her.

“So, I heard you talking about the wedding…” Nicole began but didn’t get a chance to finish. “Talk to Lilo! I mean Ailo! Talk to him talk to him talk to him!” Cassy shouted and walked out of the room, leaving Mael, Jackie and Nicole. “She is under a lot of stress right now…” Mael said quietly. Jackie got up and rushed after Cassy. Nicole smiled at Mael wickedly. “You and me alone again… you aren’t going to run away this time are you?” She purred.

Mael was beginning to remember why he thought torture was a good punishment for some people. “I didn’t run, I was disgusted to the point of leaving, actually.” He said then learned against the counter to let her know he wasn’t about to be the one to leave first. “You left because you wanted to taste the forbidden fruit… I just want you to know its still up for…” She stepped closer and heaved her chest,” Grabs…” Mael raised an eyebrow. “I’ll remember that if I am in the mood to contract an STD.” He smiled.

Nicole smiled back, too stupid apparently to get the idea she wasn’t wanted. “You flatterer you...” She giggled and stepped closer, Mael didn’t move a muscle. She was touching him now though his shirt, her hands blatantly on his stomach and abs. “What if I went lower… would you resist me?” She purred toying with his belt. His hand slowly rose until it laded over hers. He leaned down close so his lips were mere inches away from her flesh, she felt a chill there. “If you move… I will crush your hand into a thousand pieces…” He hissed in a low voice.

Nicole gasped at the sudden pressure of his fingers sliding around hers. “That’s a good girl… now understand that, if I wanted to, I could kill you right now. The only thing that is stopping me is your sister…” He squeezed her hand tighter. The sound of her heart beat was deafening. “I would take great pleasure in ripping you apart and letting Ailo play with the pieces, do you understand?” He asked in a low tone. Nicole nodded franticly.

“Good, good. I want you to know… I am the Devil and there is nothing I wouldn’t do to keep Cassy… if you hurt her I will hurt you ten fold…” He whispered the last part into her ear; he wanted her to feel his closeness because now she desperately wanted to be as far away as possible. “I won’t hurt her... I won’t… please.” Nicole whimpered, which made Mael’s smile widen. “Good, now go and be good and make Cassy feel better… if she isn’t smiling by later tonight… well I think you can guess what the morning holds for you… if you wake that is.” He let her go; she stumbled away and ran after Cassy and her Mother.

The rest of the day went rather well and the sisters didn’t fight once. Mael was pleased at his peace keeping but now he had the two women looking at him as if he were actually the Devil. They had all finally agreed that the wedding would be at the manor but Cassy’s mother had insisted they at least get a priest for the ceremony. Mael agreed to that and so did Cassy. Jackie said that would honor the late Mister Peterson well, it seemed all was well. Ailo, bless his rotten black soul, had arranged for all the clothes and they had arrived that evening and the flowers were supposed to come in the early evening before the wedding. Yes everything was coming together beautifully.

Cassy awoke with a start, it wasn’t quite dawn yet she was sure. She looked to her side where Mael would be but he wasn’t there. She felt a chill run down her spine suddenly. She got up and pulled her robe on; she couldn’t seem to rid her skin of the damp chill that hit her. She managed her way through the room thanks to the new night eyes she had and opened the bedroom door. The house was dead quiet and it was in fact still dark out, she was still amazed how she could tell time just by a feeling, an instinct.

She glided down the hallway silently, her feet didn’t seem to make a sound as she moved, like a ghost. “Cool…” She whispered. The world Mael had brought to her was still so new and wonderful and in truth they had known each other only weeks and she trusted him completely. She had never given her heart completely like she had to him, she was always too afraid of being hurt. Somehow she knew he would never hurt her. “Mael…? Are you here?” There was no answer. She walked a bit farther down the hall then turned down toward where her Sister’s room was.

She heard a murmur; the noise was enough to peak her interest. Cassy snuck down the hall and stop when she realized the sound was coming from her Sister’s room. She pressed her ear to the door; moaning, gasping, “No!” Cassy bit her lip to silence her cry. “No… it…couldn’t…” She opened the door gently. Bodies writhing, panting, Cassy shook her head in disbelief. She saw Nicole’s blonde hair fly around and then a flash of blue eyes and hard features beneath her. Cassy screamed and slammed the door, she ran back down the hall.

Her eyes were so filled with tears she couldn’t see straight. Something grabbed her arm. “Cassy wait…” Mael whispered. She couldn’t look at him, couldn’t speak. She pulled away from him and kept running until she was in their room. She slammed the door shut and locked it, her breath was coming in short gasp and she was afraid she was going to pass out. Sobbing she managed to reach the bed and collapsed. “Cassy!” Mael yelled from outside.

“Go to hell! The wedding is off!” Cassy cried. “Cassy, let me in!” He tried to whisper. “No, no… Adrian was right; you are a monster, a stinking rat! I am packing and leaving tomorrow night and I am not coming out of here until the sun goes down!” She sobbed. “Cassy, please, I need to come in so we can talk… Cassy!” He insisted again. “NO! Leave me alone!” She yelled and threw a pillow at the door. “I Hate you, hate you!” She continued then broke down into tears.
