Chapter 13:  More than words

I can’t believe he danced with her… and let her … he practically was making out with her!” Raygen ranted as she paced her room. “Dude… Paris was making out with her? No way, I didn’t think he even hugged people…” Red said. He was trying to wash the dye out of his hair before anyone noticed it. “Well he wasn’t exactly…kissing her. But I bet he did after I left! Oh I am going to get that Maggie…” Raygen growled squeezing her fists until the knuckles turned white.

“So you didn’t actually see them kiss or do anything but dance?” Red asked giving his hair a light tussle with a towel. “No… but…but I bet they did!” Raygen said crossing her arms. She knew how stupid she sounded and yet she couldn’t help it. It was either talk with Red, or go kill Maggie and the BCD really frowned on non Vampire murder. “Did you finish the files… or whatever they were?” Raygen asked Red as she shuffled the pile of papers on her desk. “Yeah… pretty much stuff about the Vampire we are supposed to ice… nothing major important, I looked them over for a minute.”  Red said.

“…Oh great, now I actually have to read the stupid thing! Can’t I rely on you once?” Raygen cried. Red shrugged with a big stupid grin. “Get out… go. I need some sleep before I go and kill Maggie…” She growled. “Ok Chica… I bet Paris didn’t kiss her though… everyone knows he likes you.” Red said and winked. Raygen pushed him out the door and shut it. “God I hate him…” She muttered then collapsed on her bed.

To say there was tension the next morning would certainly be an understatement. The breakfast table was silent; Paris and Paul looked at each other in concern while Raygen stared at Maggie. “So… um… did you have a chance to go over those files, Raygen?” Maggie asked but didn’t lift her eyes to meet the she wolf’s glare. “Yes, I did.” Raygen said stiffly. Maggie smiled slightly and looked to Paris as if silently asking if she should be worried about the death stare she was getting.

“Um… well… What I was going to say is that Blood will be at his Hotel suite tonight. The Vampires are getting ready for something big, I am not sure what it is, but after tonight, Blood is leaving his suite and so is all of his entourage. If we are to go through with our plan… then it has got to be tonight. We have to pair off; now that we have the special cologne, we don’t have to worry about the Vampires detecting your scent.” Maggie said with a chipper tone.

Raygen narrowed her eyes at Maggie. “Alright Maggie, pair us off then.” She challenged. Maggie nervously looked to the rest of the group. “Well… um… How about You and I and then Red and Paris….?” She nearly squeaked. Raygen smiled in victory. “That sounds fi,” “I have a better idea…” Paris interrupted. “Raygen and I will go after Blood and stay at the Hotel, you, Red and Paul can find out where they are going, encase we don’t get him tonight.” He said. Raygen looked at him in wide eyed shock.

“Well… actually that is a good idea, Paris.” Maggie said. “I think so too.” Paul smiled. Raygen was the only one that seemed a little shaken by the idea. “But… just me and Paris against a Vampire horde? Isn’t that a little… one sided?” Raygen argued. “I could take them alone, you are the encase back up.” Paris stated. “I have already arranged rooms; I will call and cancel the other. The check in time is 3:00 pm so I think you should get there by then and just wait for sundown. Blood won’t be there until sundown, we can’t find his day rest area so… are best chance is when he is arriving at his room.” Maggie said.

“Right… Raygen, get ready, we will leave in an hour.” Paris said and then removed himself from the table. “Ok…” She muttered. She wasn’t exactly looking forward to being alone with Paris, she would have before but now she was afraid there would be nothing but awkward silence. Nonetheless she did as she was told and got ready. Packing a bag just incase of a lot of blood shed, that was a normal issue when Paris ‘took care’ of the Vampire prey. She also packed a pajama top so maybe she could just sleep until sun down since she didn’t get a wink of sleep the night before.

In no time Paris was yelling at the end of the hallway for her. “Raygen, come on!” He called. His voice was utterly terrifying to most people but she just saw a big teddy bear with a mean bark. “Coming, jeeze…” She growled and grabbed her bag. Paris was tapping his foot with his arms crossed; there was a suitcase at his feet. “Alright, I am ready. What is the big hurry anyway? Sundown isn’t for like four hours…” Raygen said brushing past him. He raised an eyebrow to the attitude.

She waved quickly to Paul, Red and Maggie before walking out the door to the car. Paris narrowed his eyes and followed, he did not wave goodbye however. Raygen threw her bag in the back seat of the car then got in the passenger side and shut the door. Paris looked pissed already when he placed his suitcase by hers and got in. “Is there something wrong?” He asked wryly while starting the engine. “No.” Raygen replied and turned her head to face the window. “Why were you at the club last night?” Paris asked suddenly as he pulled away and started toward the main road.

“You… saw me?!” Raygen gasped. “Saw, smelled… you are lucky you didn’t end up as food.” Paris said angrily. “I was watching your back… I figured if you got into trouble that Maggie wasn’t much to help you out…” She lied. A small smile curled the big wolf’s lips. “Really…” He said. Raygen quickly glanced at him. “Yeah…” She said quietly. The rest of the car ride was silent, not so much awkward since at one point Paris turned the radio on but Raygen would have rather had awkward silence than Jazz.

“Wow…” They both uttered when they pulled in front of the Grand Mapes Hotel; the thing was massive and there were valets! Paris stopped the car and before he could open the door, there were bellhops taking the bags from the back seat. He raised an eyebrow and looked to Raygen. “Not bad…” He said under his breath. Even when he was human he had never been to such a place.  He was neatly groomed in a suit and tie with his hair braided. Raygen was… well, wearing her normal attire with a special bright pink hair dye.

She waited at the elevator while Paris checked in. Most of the people that walked by gave her a long dirty look to which she stuck her tongue out at. Paris never looked at her oddly, he never said anything about the way she looked and he was about as stuff shirted nerdy as a person could get. “Come on, the maid just finished cleaning the room.” Paris said taking her arm. He seemed to be in a hurry and Raygen couldn’t quite figure out why, they had four hours until sundown and the arrival of the Vampires.

They stepped into the elevator and went up to the next to last floor; Blood had the very top floor all to himself apparently. When it stopped they got out and headed down the left hall, the room Maggie had gotten was a suite and a damn nice one too. Paris slipped the keycard into their room door and stepped inside. Raygen slipped under his arm since he took up the whole doorway. “Wow, this is awesome!” Raygen cheered. The room was heavily decorated and… well… extravagant. The colors were Blue, chocolate and gold and it looked like one of the replicated art pieces would cost as much as their car.

“Nice huh?” Paris said. That was about as excited as he got. Raygen flew over to the huge four post bed and dived on it. “Oh my God I want to live here!” She laughed running her hands over the silky bedspread. The room had a couch, two chairs, the bed and a large table. Around a corner was a wet bar stocked with drinks and around another corner was the bathroom which was bigger than Paris’ bedroom at home. Raygen unzipped her bag and start rummaging; she finally pulled out her pajama top.

“You… actually packed something?” He said cocking his head slightly. Raygen smiled innocently. “Of course, you never know when you might need something… like right now I plan on testing this bed out and sleeping until sunset.” She said kicking her shoes off. Paris looked utterly mind boggled. Raygen disappeared into the bathroom and shut the door leaving Paris alone. “…Sleep…” He muttered under his breath, he had had another activity in mind. When Raygen popped out of the bathroom, Paris was waiting right outside of the door, rather blocking her passage to the lovely, squishy bed.

“What?” She asked looking up at him. He had removed his coat and tie, his white shirt was unbuttoned at the top and his hair was loose, in other words he was looking rather sexy. “What’s this?” He asked pinching the loose collar of her pajama top. She looked down at it, she was again too aware there was no bursting bosom to try and hide from his gaze. “Cats…?” Paris said with an amused tone. “Yeah, this is my favorite top…I love cats.” Raygen said, her voice caught slightly, he was so close and… touching her. “It’s cute…” He said quietly. Raygen looked up into his eyes; they were soft and smiling.

“Paris…?” She uttered. “We are not in the Church now… there is no one to interrupt.” He said suddenly. Raygen’s eyes grew wide. His hands took hers and brought them to his chest were he pressed them over his heart. “Do you feel that Ma petite? Do you feel what you do to me…?” He whispered it as he lowered his head, leaned so close that his breath touched her cheek. His hands rose gently and smoothed her hair from her face as they cradled her flush cheeks. “Faire I’ amour…et moi…” He whispered.  Make love to me.
